My favourite Sri Lanakan drum

My favourite Sri Lankan drum is Thammattama. All  the three dancing traditions of our country use this drum for there special events such as arms givimg ceremonies, pirith ceremonies, perahera etc. There are two parts called ' Mandama' and 'Ada Beya'. There for we tell another name for this drum is called 'Pokuru Beraya'. We use wood and animal skin for make thammattama. Rath Ahela wood is very special wood for this drum and goat skin and cow skin are special skins for make this drum. We use two sticks for play the thammattama. It is called 'Kadippu'. Wea can play so many traditional bols by using the sticks and both hands. In present days we use another instrument with thammattama. It is called 'Dandu Beraya' and it's make by using a piece ow bamboo. So overoll we can play thammattama by using sticks. hands and dandu beraya like this.

Finally i want to tell you thammattama is very special instrument for create magical collaberations and we have to protect these  traditional instruments for the uses of next generations in Sri Lanka. Hope you'll enjoy about my blog.
