Born as a prince and die as a king

 If you think that what i am telling today, obviously you will suprise. My topic is 'Born as a prince and die as a king'. It means today my topic is 'My school'. My school is Price Of Wales College. It is located in Moratuwa. My school is one of the old and beautiful school in Sri Lanka. Let's see about the history of our school.

The founder of our school is Mr. Charles Hendri De Soysa and he started this school in memory of King Edward VII in Wales. The foundation stone of the school was laid by Sir William Gregeory in 1876. The plan of school was created by Mr. Muhandiram Mendis Jayawardane. Now i'll show the founder's photo and the old photo of our school.


 In 1967, Mr. Thissa Gunawardana was created the school Budhdha's temple. It so beautiful and old Buddha's temple in Sri Lanka. 

There are two German and Latin Mottos in our school crest. The first one is 'ICE DIEN' and It means 'I serve'. The second one is 'NIHIL PER SALTUM'  and it means 'Step by step'. There are three colours in our school flgs and there also three meanings.

 Red - The Splender 

 


 In present there are more than 3000 students and  more than 120 teachers in my school. There are so many sports in our school such as cricket, rugby, foot ball, swimming, hocky, karam etc. Every school students has a cord name from there schools such as Royalist, Anandian, Thomian etc. Our school students are called Cambrians. So as Cambrian i am so proud of my school and i am telling again and again ' BORN AS A PRINCE , DIE AS A KING'. Hope you'll enjoy about my blog and see you from another blog.

  Art is an important thing to our personal life and our society. Craft is the basement of art. So if we don't mastering the craft we can't make the art. The bond of art and craft is like bark on a tree. The art is making from the work of people. It's called human process. I would like to show you some arts who made from the result of human process.     This is some arts namely  dancing, singing, acting and painting.  All these subjects was made by the result of  human process. For an example, if we want to be a good dancer, we should do the practices every day. If we don't do the practices we can't be a good dancer. So practice means mastering and mastering helps to create a new art. And we have to study other dancing styles. My Favourite Dancing Style

    My favourite dancing style is Low Country dancing style. It is the main Dancing tradition in three areas in our country. There are Mathara, Benthara & Raigama. The main peace ceremony of this dancing style is called 'Dewol Maduwa' and the story of  Dewol Maduwa is based on King Seramaan.         This is the main drum of  Low Country dancing tradition. It is called 'Yak Beraya'. Kithul, Ehela, Pol, Kohomba are the types of wood using to make Yak Beraya.        This is the main costume of Low Country dancing tradition. It is called 'Thelme Costume'.
